Neil Perkin, Founder Only Dead Fish (Digital & Media consultancy)


Neil has over 20 years media owner experience and was latterly the Director of Marketing, Strategy and Digital for IPC Media, the largest consumer publisher in the UK and publisher of multimedia brands including Wallpaper, Marie Claire and the NME. In this capacity Neil ran award-winning strategy, planning and consumer insight functions and was at the centre of defining and implementing the digital strategy for one of the largest media owners in the UK.

Claim to fame

Background in media owners including 14 years with IPC Media, one of the largest consumer publishers in the UK, in digital and strategic roles. Worked on a number of high profile NPD projects during this time including the launch of Nuts (groundbreaking mens weekly magazine), Pick Me Up (new high volume women's weekly magazine) and (content driven women's website). Winner of five industry awards for sales, innovation and research.

As well as running his own digital consultancy, Neil is a columnist for New Media Age, and authors one of the most popular and authoritative media and marketing blogs in the UK (as ranked by Advertising Age). He is a regular keynote speaker across Europe on content strategy, emerging media, digital commercial strategy and social technologies, and writes for BrandRepublic, FutureLab, and Marketing Week amongst others.
