Trudy Thompson FRSA Founder & CEO of Bricks and Bread Sustainable Living Centre CIC.

Trudy completely changed her life in 2001 from being professional driver and business woman in motorsport with a blatant consumer lifestyle, by downshifting and teaching herself about low carbon business and sustainable construction, this inspired her to start her own eco building company.

After many years of hands-on practical experience managing over 30 eco building projects Trudy found herself continually having to overcome issues caused by a lack of independent information, skills training and availability of sustainable products in the UK.

In 2009 Trudy started the social enterprise Bricks and Bread Sustainable Living Centre to share best practise, find solutions and create a hub for sustainable business. All the activities at the Centre and income it receives are used to benefit the local community – its people, the local economy and environment.

In a year the Centre has contributed to local businesses benefiting from attracting over £17 million pounds worth of sales or investment funds into their business.
